Tonys Hot Lap
THE PHOTO:
This is Tony having his “hot lap” in the Ariel Atom at the Taupo race track. Tony and I plonked down $250 for 8 laps in this little rocket (made famous by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson’s cheeks fibrolating in the air pressure while taking one for a drive), followed by 3 hot laps where we were driven by a racing driver. Lets just say this thing is F A S T !.
I’m really happy with this shot for the mere fact that out of the 150+ shots taken, this is one of the few that shows the sensation of speed with the rotation blur of the wheels and the background motion blur (without using Potatoshop).
OTHER:
By the time you are reading this, I will be either in a plane to, or walking around in Hong Kong. I’m there for 6 days buying some new goodies, so this website is on auto pilot. This means that you will be subjected to shots taken from the race track because thats all I have. The plus side is that I will finally appear in a photo on my own website. See you on the 22nd.
