Ruinous
THE PHOTO:
This is part of the ruins that make up the Imperial City complex in Hue. Sadly this majestic complex was mostly demolished during the Vietnam/American War. Even sadder, is that much of the complex was left like that, and only now is rebuilding taking place (due to overseas funding). It was a sad state of affairs to visit such a prominent and historic landmark in such a state.
POST-PROCESSING:
HDR composite of 3 different exposures. Pre-processed in Photomatix and post processed in CS4. I’ve deliberately gone for a semi-unrealistic, over-processed HDR look to reflect the dramatic impact this left on my memory of this visit.
