Riding the Rays

THE PHOTO:
This was one of those “ZOMG! look at that light” type moments – I took about 10 shots but because of the low light it was hard to grab at ISO100 hand-held. A dusty road with sun-beams streaming through is always a photogenic scene.

POST-PROCESSING:
The original was slightly over-exposed and washed out so required a lot to get it a lot more neutral. Duplicated layer with a black and white treatment (soft-light blend) to balance the warm color, dodge and burn, USM, levels, curves, vignette and crop.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/5.3
  • Camera: NIKON D2X
  • Taken: 26 December, 2009
  • Focal length: 105mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/10s
