THE PHOTO:
Interior shot of the General Post Office (GPO) in Melbourne. How lucky am I to have buildings this grand just down my street!

POST-PROCESSING:
I don’t think there’s another shot like this on my site, probably because there haven’t been too many buildings like this to take photos of (until now). The interior is by itself pretty monochromatic, just warmer, so I felt this suited a full B&W treatment. However, not shooting in RAW meant I struggled to maintain detail without noise (I had to crank the ISO upto 640 for a hand-held shot). The rest is levels, curves, dodge and burn, USM etc.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/4
  • Camera: NIKON D70
  • Taken: 2 May, 2008
  • Focal length: 12mm
  • ISO: 640
  • Shutter speed: 1/60s
