THE PHOTO:
The Wairakei steam field. The steam against the deep blue sky (from the circular polarizer) made me think in terms of the gasses emitted into the atmosphere. In this case it’s harmless steam, but the combination of the two with the way the cloud almost seems to be opening a hole in the sky.

Crop, Lens Correction, Masking (ground), Duplicate layer blended, Levels, Curves, Dodge and Burn etc.
