Liquid Shadow

THE PHOTO:
Probably as close as I would come to a self-portrait. My reflection in the murky waters of Lake Moananui. The darkened corners (vignetting) are a result of the combination of a UV filter and a Circular Polarizing filter tacked on to the end of my 18-70mm lens. The previous 3-4 images had the same thing, hence the crops. This time I thought it added something to this very boring shot. I do like the light refraction from the shadow however.

POSTPROCESSING:
Adobe Raw Processing: Tint, Shadow, Contrast, Increase vignetting. Photoshop CS2: Velvia vision (dynamic range increase) + 20% boost, Sharpen (Focal Blade plugin), Noise Reduction (Neat Image), Digital Tools 55mm Color Tint (blue).

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/4
  • Camera: NIKON D70
  • Focal length: 18mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/90s
