THE PHOTO:
One of the first photos I took soon after arriving in Treviso, just north of Venice, where I spent my first week in Italy (we have an office there). Treviso has, not unlike Venice, but not to the same extent, a series of canals and waterways.

This shot stood out for obvious reasons, it looks like a doorway to nowhere, but maybe things were different in earlier times.
