Fortress Hill

THE PHOTO:
Well, the camera took this shot, not me – the motion effect that seems so well calculated was done my me merely setting the aperture priority and the camera did the rest. This was taken at the Oil Street exit of the Fortress Hill MTR station, basically 50m from my Hotel. Taken the 1st night I got the D2X, using my ‘money-maker’ lens, the 12-24 f4 Pro.

LENS:
Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X 124AF Pro DX

POSTPROCESSING:
I decided to leave the perspective distortion unedited for this shot as the ‘leaning-in’ of the buildings adds to the closed in feel of walking around a big city with high-rises everywhere. Other than that, the following was added: Crop, Sharpen (Smart Sharpen for Lens Blur), Velvia Vision (Dynamic Range increase), Auto Levels/Color, Noise Reduction.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/4
  • Camera: NIKON D2X
  • Taken: 17 January, 2006
  • Focal length: 12mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1s
