Cold Snap

THE PHOTO:
As it starts to warm up here in the southern hemisphere, I thought I’d post another photo from a recent freak-weather event taken in the Blue Mountains in October (the previous shot is here). This snow-storm, while beautiful to watch, wreaked havoc on our travel and accommodation plans (it was a company retreat). It turned into a very memorable event.

This shot was taken at the back steps of the accommodation.

POST-PROCESSING:
Almost straight from camera, a minor crop, auto-contrast (to compensate for the camera settings), and minor vignette to balance the one introduced by the lens.

    EXIF:

  • Aperture: ƒ/1.8
  • Camera: NIKON D700
  • Taken: 12 October, 2012
  • Focal length: 50mm
  • ISO: 200
  • Shutter speed: 1/500s
