Great shot, I have a weak spot for sunrises but the mass of swimmers on the banks of the lake really does it. We have just come back from our first visit in NZ and we passed through Taupo on the way to Napier for the Art Deco festival. You really our lucky to have such a wonderfully photographic country to live in. We enjoyed our time in NZ tremendously and can't wait to go back. Amongst other things we actually got to meet Craig Potton your home grown incredibly talented and friendly landscape photographer. Perhaps next time we are in NZ we could meet up, I really came to recognize who local knowledge helps in finding the best locales.

Thanks Lila. One competition, held every year. The stark difference between the two shot comes primarily from the fact that the awesome colors of the sunrise dissipated considerably by the time the evet actually started, turning the light into a very grey scene.

Is this the same group of folks that are in 'starting frenzy'? The images evoke such different moods that it is hard to believe they are the same event, but how many NZ Ironman competitions are there?

The last image was definitely a competetive event. This one makes me think of religious festivals in Thailand and India.

Congratulations on your 4 years.
